Good Morning Everyone! Happy Friday!!! =)

Today, I just wanted to do a quick post in order to share this card that I made for three different challenges.

• Sketch: Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #110
• Colors: Caardvarks' Monochromatic Challenge
• Theme: Wee Memories Flowers Challenge

I'll be honest and tell you that I don't particularly love this card. This is primarily because I usually always love mixing bright and vibrant colors together. However, for this card, I was trying to stick to using only one single color, in order to meet the Caardvarks Monochromatic requirements, therefore I was a bit out of my "comfort zone". But oh well, I managed and I still had a lot of fun making this card. =)

I can't tell you how happy I am that the weekend is finally here. I'm not even sure why, because I don't really have any exciting plans. But let's just say it's been one of those types of weeks! haha... It dragged on way too long and slow and now I'm just very excited for it to be over! =)

Random Facts About Myself :)

Hi Guys! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day! =)

Ok, sooo I've decided to try something new on my blog today! I got the idea from one of my blog friends, Paulina. She started a trend on her blog where she posts random facts and thoughts about herself each month. So far, she has done a "Monthly Ramblings" post for both March and April, and I just love reading them. It's a great way to get to know other online crafters and bloggers on a more personal basis. =)

Sooo... with that being said, I have decided to do the same, and create a short list of some random things i'd like to share about myself... Hope you enjoy!

• 1) I seriously wish I was a much FASTER crafter! I feel like I always have a billion ideas in my head of things to make, however I'm entirely too slow, that I end up only creating one or two of my ideas, before I forget the rest! Hahaa!... ((sigh))

• 2) I really, really, REALLY want to learn how to properly use Photoshop!!!

• 3) "Hi, my name is Ayana... and i'm a huge Shop-A-Holic!"... I'm not kidding. I constantly come home to packages from various online orders that I place throughout the week. And I check my shopping websites just as much as I check my emails. Many of my friends think I'm crazy... and sadly, I think they're right!

• 4) I am completely obsessed with my iPhone!

• 5) I have been in a relationship with the same guy for the past eight and half years. No, we are not married yet... but hopefully soon.

• 6) A couple of years ago, I got into a horrible car accident, where my car flipped over on the highway. THAT was by far, the most scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life! Since then, I get chills whenever I hear of someone getting into an accident.

• 7) I have asthma and tons of allergies to various furry animals. =(

• 8) I LOVE cold weather! I love everything about it!.... Apparently i'm living in the wrong state! :-(

• 9) I don't really like being the center of attention.

• 10) I am such an "insomniac"... (I know, it's a horrible habit)... But if you call me at 2am, there's a 90% chance i'll be wide awake.

• 11) I really wish I could play the piano! If I had more free time in my life, I would totally take lessons!

• 12) I absolutely LOVE to TRAVEL! So far, I have visited various places in Europe, China, South & Central America.... and I am not even close to being satisfied. I wish I was rich so I could travel the world!!!

• 13) Before I started blogging, I thought blogs were a waste of time and I couldn't understand what the big deal was and why people were even interested in creating a blog. BUT now.... HA! I am happy to admit that I am absolutely in loveee with my blog and the whole online "blog community"! It has seriously opened up a whole new world for me (which I love)! 

OK! So that's it! =)

I really hope you don't regret wasting your time reading this stuff. Haha!... Hopefully you found at least some of it interesting. I would LOVE for to hear YOUR random tidbits as well. As I stated earlier, it's a great way for your readers to get to know you more and for you to get some personal insight on other fellow crafters and blogger friends. Copic Butterflies

Hello Again..... 

Today I would like to share a card that I created for Kristina Werner's One Layer Card Challenge. The challenge required us to make a card with only ONE layer... No buttons, no ribbon, no brads, no pop-dots... Nothing!.... hmmm.... Well, I will admit that this is not usually my type of style, being that I always LOVE to add dimension to almost all of my projects. However, I have never done one of Kristina's challenges before, so when I saw that she had posted this one, I was determined to enter, no matter what!

Then, when I was stuck trying to come up with an idea of what to make, I figured it would be a great time to reach for some of my newest products in my craft supply..... My COPICS! =) Haha, I was excited to practice with them, since they are still fairly new to me.

I used one of the butterflies from the Antique Engravings set from Hero Arts. In order to make the butterflies overlap, I made a mask of the stamp by stamping the butterfly on a piece of scratch paper first, and then cutting it out and placing it over the already stamped image, while I stamped over it again.

I have to admit... I was surprisingly pleased with the results that I got with this card. So I then decided to make another one.

This time I only stamped one butterfly and used this "hello"sentiment from the set: Truly Appreciated by Hero Arts. It's a clear set, so I just love the way you can bend it to form whatever shape you prefer.

    

Then, once I was done with the first two... I felt like I was on a Copic streak! haha... So, I went ahead and made one more card with the same image....

For this last card, I went a little over-board with the masking technique... haha! I thought it would be fun to make more wings appear to be coming out from behind the initial butterfly in the middle. Then, even though this was supposed to be a single-layer card, I just couldn't resist adding those three black pearls to the bottom. I thought the card looked a little too plain without them.

Well, that's all for my post today. I hope you were able to find at least some inspiration with these cards and using Copic markers. I'm still learning a lot about them myself, but it has definitely become one of my new "addictions" and I hope to produce more projects with them in the months to come.

In honer of today, I would also like to share one of the recent cards I made using the some DeNami stamps:

  

I made this card using the Ice Cream Sundae stamp from DeNami Design. I stamped it three different times in order to make layers and pop it up with dimensionals. I just love the 3-D effect! =) 

And to top it off, I just added glitter and red Stickles to the ice cream scoop, and then added the "appropriate" sentiment: "Here's the Scoop"!

Compose A Card & Annabelle Stamps Challenges

Good Morning Everyone!.... Happy Monday! =)

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Mine went pretty well... (I'll tell you more about that later). 

But first, today I have not one, but TWO cards to share with you all. Both are very similar to each other and both were made specifically for challenges. 

The two challenges I made these cards for were:  Compose A Card # 9  And  ABSC019

    

Now don't you see how similar the challenges were?.... Both of them had similar layouts. 

Here are some close-ups of my second card:

In case it isn't obvious, twine has become one of my new favorite embellishments. =) And i'm really happy that I finally got to you use my "On My Couch" set from Papertrey Ink. I have had the set for so long now, but I just haven't had the chance to get around to using it. (I hate when that happens).... But for this challenge I finally managed to reach for it and put it to good use!

As for my weekend, if you read my last post, I mentioned how I was going to be taking a class on Copic Markers on Saturday. Well I did, and I absolutely loved it! I guess you could say it was the start of my soon-to-be "new addiction". Haha!... 

I took the class at my local stamp store here, in South Florida. The class was taught by Colleen Schaan. She's a Regional Instructor for Copics and she's absolutely amazing. This girl definitely knows her stuff! =) She was super sweet and very helpful. We worked on three different cards in the class and practiced different types of blending techniques and other little tricks that Colleen shared with us. If you're interested in checking out Colleen's classes or learning more about her, then you can visit her blog HERE.

I definitely had a great time at her class and i'm looking forward to putting my new knowledge to use. I will try to post the cards that we made in the class on my blog soon, and I'll also try to post some of the tips that I learned when I get the chance.

DeNami Design Product Challenge #1

Good Morning Everyone! :)

Today I have a card that I made for the DeNami Design Product Challenge. The challenge was to create a card or project featuring buttons. For this card, I decided to used the Single Daisy stamp from DeNami Design, and then I added pink buttons in the center of the flowers.

As always, I love adding dimension to my projects... So I also cut out a second layer to the tops of the daisies and added pop-dots in order to raise them up. Here's a closer look.....

I definitely had a lot of fun making this card and participating in this challenge and I strongly encourage others to join in and participate as well. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Thanks goodness it's Friday! Yay! =) I'm actually really excited about this weekend, because tomorrow I am going to be taking a class on Copic markers! I own a few colors and I have indeed played around with them before, however I've never actually taken a class on how to use them. Therefore, i'm super excited on learning some new techniques and the proper way on how to use them. Hopefully, I will be able to start posting more projects using these wonderful markers and I'll even try to share some of the information that I learn in the class. I can't wait! =)

Embellish Parties Color Challenge & Design Team Announcement!

Hello Everyone! =)

I hope you all have been having a great week so far. I have lots to share today! 

First off, I would like to share the wedding card above that I made for the Embellish Parties Color Challenge which is currently being sponsored by DeNami Design. The challenge was to create a project using the specified colors (shown below) of red, white, black, & kraft.

 

For this card, I decided to use the Martha Stewart Loop Punch around the border and I also embossed the white background with the Swiss Dots folder in my Cuttlebug. I also added pop-dots, red Stickles, and rhinestones in order to embellish the cake.

This was a super fun challenge to play along with, and I definitely encourage you all to join in and play along as well! =)

Scripted Butterflies

Helloooo Everyone!

  Ok, so it’s been a while since my last post. I am finally back from my vacation in Colombia and I had such an amazing time while I was there! But boy am I exhausted. Every day we woke up early and spent the days doing tons of sightseeing and outdoor activities. I got to go horseback riding through the mountains, canopy gliding over trees, interact with various different animals, and I even got my second experience at white-water rafting. I loved it all! :) But I must say, that I am also very happy to be back home in the States too! Oh, how I’ve missed my blog and the whole online community! I have spent the last couple of days trying to catch up with everything in my life. My only complaint about returning home from a vacation is the fact that I get so behind with work, emails, crafting, my shows, etc. LoL…. If only time could just “freeze” while I’m gone, that would be great! Haha!

  Well my card for today was made using one of my favorite script stamps from Hero Arts, "Old French Writing", and it also incorporates one of my favorite color schemes of pink and brown. Whenever I use butterfly shapes on my cards, I just love making the wings pop up. It gives the 3D effect that I love and just adds more depth to the card, in my opinion. I also added some pearls to the center of the butterflies and tied some string around the ribbon, to give it a different look than my usual bows or knots.

P.S.---> On a quick side note…. If any of you are into reading, I just finished a FANTASTIC book, that I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested. It’s called “Something Borrowed” by Emily Giffin.

It’s a fabulous story that involves friendship, love, betrayal, and just finding what truly can make a person happy. It was so realistic, funny, and honest. So if you’re looking for a good story, please check it out!
