Hello Blog Friends!.....
I'm here today to share quite a few new cards with you! I'm sure many of you have heard of the stamp company called Practicing Creativity Designs by Courtney Baker. Well i've been following Courtney's blog for a little while now, since I first started blogging a few months ago. I love her designs and all of the samples that I see around the web using her stamps. Last month I ordered two of her sets, however I didn't really get around to using them until just recently. (Not because I don't like them, but just because I've been so busy). But anyways, I'd love to share what I've made with you all.... and I really hope you are able to gain some inspiration from these cards! Please be sure to let me know what you think... I always love feeback! =)
If you aren't familiar with Courtney's stamps, the first think i'll tell you about them is that they come in clear sets. In my opinion, this is an awesome feature! I say this because one of the things that I absolutely LOVE about clear stamps is the fact that you can BEND them! You can easily take a simple clear image and bend, curve, or alter it in order to make different variations out of the same image. Sooo... that's exaclty what I chose to do for my cards today!
As you can see in the pictures, for this "Thank You" card, I used the smaller ray from the You're Dandy set in order to stamp this swirl background. Then I stamped the dandilions on top of it and added some black pearls to the center, in order to add some more depth. This background was so easy and super fun to stamp, and I just loved the results. =)
Here is another fun example of what you can make by bending the ray image in the same set. I stamped the ray several different times, using various colors in order to make this rainbow below:
Pretty cool, huh?...... and as I stated earlier, it was so easy to do!
Ok, so for my next two cards, I have to share with you that they are not particularly my regular taste in style. In fact, I wasn't even planning on my posting them, because I didn't feel they were my best work. However, my sister happened to really like the designs, so she was pretty persistent and kept urging me to share them. Sooo... despite my hesitancy, here they are:
I used the dandilons from the You're Dandy set, in order to make the background on the first card above, with the kraft base. Then I just made the same "swirl" image by stamping the small ray once again, for both of them. I then added a big button to the center of each swirl and adhered them on with a pop-dot and string. I also decided to submit the second card into the Embellish Magazine's current color challenge. Therefore I added the dry embossing, with the Swiss Dots folder, to the background card base.
Finally, here are just some quick snapshots that I took while I was stamping the background of my cards. You can see how I curved the ray image onto my clear block in order to achieve the different look that I was writing about before.
Ok, well that's all for today! This was indeed a much longer post than usual for me. But hopefully you enjoyed it and didn't lose interest along the way. Haha! =) I'm really glad I was finally able to put these stamps to some good use. I am definitley looking forward to working more with them and sharing my creations with you all.
Just in case you missed my two posts from yesterday.... I wanted to remind you that there are two fun challenges currently going on over at the DeNami blog and at the Repeat Impressions blog. You can find out more information about them, and see my card submissions here and here.
I also wanted to share with you that one of my blog friends, Paulina is having a fun giveaway on her blog right now. All you have to do is leave her a comment, and you will have the chance at winning a $50 gift certificate to an online stamp store. How fun! You can find out more information about her giveaway here.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I've said this before, and i'll say it again.... I really appreciate all of you who leave me comments. They are always so fun to read and are so very encouraging and important to me. Plus... I always love making new blog friends! =)
