RI Sketch Challenge- "Life is not..."

Good Morning Everyone!... Today is the middle of the week, which also means it's time for another "What If? Wednesday" Sketch Challenge featured over on the Repeat Impressions blog! I sure hope you guys get inspired to play along with this challenge. Wendy always makes up such fun and creative sketches for us.

For my card today, I used a quote sentiment from Repeat Impressions. I kept my card pretty simple. I always love using scallop borders and then I just tied a bow with some satin ribbon at the bottom. Super Simple!... and very CAS, don't ya think?

Orange Bloom

Hi guys! I'm back again, with another one of my recent Lawn Fawn cards made up for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC76), based off of the inspiration photo & the WeeMemories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #15, because it involves "stamping".

This card was super simple to make. The kraft card base was stamped several times with the small flower image and Versamark ink, and the large flower was pre-colored before using my Copics. I then drew and cut-out the leaves by hand, and then adhered everything on with dimensionals.

I had originally planned on posting this card yesterday morning... but let's just say my morning did not start off too well. It was a long day at work and it was pretty hectic and stressful. But I don't want to ramble on with complaints on here, so i'll just stop now. LoL...

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty fun, for the most part. I know many of you will be attending CHA in Chicago for this upcoming weekend. I'm super jealous of anyone that is going! Haha! ... So, I guess if you're not  going to be at CHA, let me know in the comment section, so I won't feel like the only one who is missing out! LOL... But, of course, I am indeed looking forward to seeing a bunch of pictures and reading about everyone's experiences when they return! :)

Embellish Ric Rac Color Challenge using Judy's Blooms

Hi guys!... Just sharing a new card that I made up for the current Embellish Ric Rac Color Challenge using my new LawnFawn set called "Judy's Blooms".

 

I'll share a little secret with you all.... Until this particular challenge was posted, I actually didn't even know what "ric rac" was!... Well actually, let me explain... you see, I had indeed seen it several times before. Only I just didn't know that it was called "ric rac". Basically, I didn't know it had a name. I would always just call it by the name of "zig-zag ribbon". Haha!...

So anyways, when this challenge was posted, I fell in love with the color combo, so I knew I wanted to participate. Luckily, I actually happened to have a small strip of rick-rac in my stash. I had to search hard for it, but it was there (underneath a stash of other ribbon scraps). Only one problem... it was black, and I needed brown. So I ended up just tracing the shape onto a piece of brown cardstock in order to use for this card. LOL.... So hopefully it isn't too noticable that my ric-rac is "homemade".

Oh, and another issue that I came across with while making this card is that I didn't have any turquoise or orange pearls. So I ended up just coloring some basic white pearls with some of my Copic markers so that they would match the card.... Problem Solved! :)

So that's it!... My Embellish Challenge card with my homemade ric-rac! :) Hopefully you guys are able to gain some inspiration from this card. I sure had fun making it and i'm glad I was able to use some of my new Lawn Fawn images. I actually made a few other cards with this same set, but I will save those for another post that I will be doing within the next few days!... So I sure hope you come back to check them out!.....

Owl Always Be Your Friend

Happy Wednesday Everyone!... "the weekend is just around the corner"! :)

So today I have a fun post to share with you all. DeNami Design is featuring one of their new products, from their most recent release, over on their blog today. The product that is being featured is the adorable "Petit Four Owls" stamp set. The set comes with four cute little owl images, however I only decided to use two of the owls on my card for today. I also incorporated the "Owl Always Be Your Friend" sentiment. I thought it was appropriate and it just matched perfectly.

My card is fairly simple. As you can see in the picture, I stamped the sentiment several times with Versamark ink, in order to achieve the tone-on-tone effect. I also cut out a circle from blue cardstock and popped the blue layer up with foam dimensionals. Once I was done coloring, cutting, and assembling all of the images onto my card base, I simply just wrapped around some string and added a brown button to top things off.

DeNami Sketch Challenge #3

 

Hi Friends.... Today I am just sharing a card that I made up for the new DeNami Sketch Challenge #3. This particular sketch was made up by my friend and fellow DT member, Jenny. It was fairly simple to follow and definitely a fun design to work with.

My card features the Elegant Floral Vine stamped several times to make the background and then also the Elegant Floral Circle used as the main image on the front of the card. I also added some dry embossing and some blue gems in order to dress it up a bit.

SOTW- Billy

Hi Everyone!.... Hope you all had a super fun weekend. Today is Monday, and that means it's the start of a new week, which also means it's time for another "Stamp of the Week" brought to you by Repeat Impressions. You'll also be able to view various other examples that were made up by the other girls of the design team.

For my card today, I simply dry embossed the background with a script embossing folder, then just applied some white Craft Ink from Stampin' Up onto some of the raised parts, just to give it some more definition. I stamped the "Billy" image onto the tag with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. By doing this, I was able to do the "emboss resist" technique when I was applying the inks onto the tags with an ink applicator tool. Very simple and fun technique! Hope you enjoy! :)

Now, on to some rambling....

So how was everyone's weekend???.... Mine was actually a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get much crafting done, but I did indeed do a lot of other things which I loved. I hung out with several of my girlfriends, I went out to eat quite a few times, and I also saw two movies. One of them was old, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas". It was a pretty sad story, about the Holocaust. But it was a good film overall. Then the other movie I saw, was one that is currently out in theatres now. I'm sure many of you have already seen it: "Inception". I thought it was really good... it was a pretty crazy story line, but it was still very interesting and the special effects were phenominal. If any of you guys saw it as well, please let me know what you thought of it.

LawnFawn with a Twist!

 

Hiii Friends!....

Have any of you ever taken a stamp image and altered it in a way to make it almost like a whole new stamp??.... Well that's what I sort of tried to do with my typewriter stamp from the "Just My Type" set from LawnFawn. 

I used a sheet from an old book that I had in my garage, in order to make it seem as though the typewriter has a longgg flowing sheet coming out of it. I thought it would be fun and cute! :) I also used a sponge dauber to distress some of the edges and also to smudge ink onto the book paper, so that it would look more "aged". 

 

Hope you guys enjoy this card. I was pretty happy with the results. I will be entering this card in the current Inspired Style Challenge. The theme is "my grandma's typewriter"... How appropriate, huh?

I actually made another similar altered card with my typewriter stamp too... but I will share that one another time in another post.

My Little "Duckling" Card

Hey guys!.... It's time for another Repeat Impressions Sketch Challenge for this month!

For my card today, I decided to use the adorable Duckling image. I also used the Flowering Vine in order to make the "tone-on-tone" background on the kraft cardstock.

Courtney's Sketch Challenge & OTWC Challenge #15

   

I think Kim's awesome color inspiration photo definitely worked well Courtney's sketch. Hopefully you guys will agree! :) I'm still not really sure what type of occasion this card is good for. I left it without a sentiment because it just looked pretty "neutral" to me. I guess it could be used for anything.... or maybe it could simply be a "just because" card. I'm not sure.... LoL.

Well anyways, sorry to be so short tonight. I have actually gotten pretty busy this past week because I have started my classes again for my MBA. So I need to get myself back into "school mode". It's kind of hard, when I all I want to do is work on crafts! Haha.... I'm sure many of you can understand.

Before I go off to do some studying, I would just like to say write a quick "Happy Birthday" to one of my blog buddies and fellow DT member Paulina! DeNami Button Tree & Cherry Card

Hi Everyone!... I'm back again, with my second post for the weekend! :)

Today i'm sharing two cards made with images from DeNami Design. This first one was made up for both the CWC011- Kraft Challenge and also for Lucy's Card Challenge #12: Buttons. I used some of the new images from the most recent DeNami release. If you haven't already checked out their new images, you can find them all here. They added a lot of really cute new stamps, along with some fun new accessories too. For instance, check out these gorgeous new Harvest Boutique Buttons that I used to decorate my tree with. I just love these brilliant fall colors! Here's a close-up below:

For my second card, I decided to use one of DeNami's older images, the Small Cherries, to make a card for Sarah Martina's current "Fruity Challenge". I simply stamped the image various times to make a border, and then just colored them in with some Copic markers. I tied my ribbon a bit differently this time. Instead of leaving the tails out, I just left them long and wrapped them around the card base. I actually did it accidentally, and I'm still not sure if I even like the way it looks. But oh well, it's "something different". So I decided to just go with it! LoL

Hope you all enjoyed these two cards, and hopefully you were able to gain some inspiration from them.

I sure hope you are all having a fun weekend! Today is Sunday, and for those of you who have been following the World Cup this year, you know that the final game is today. Spain vs. Netherlands!... Any guesses on who will win??.... I'll be watching it at my house later on today. My family is really into soccer. Both my dad and my brother are huge soccer fanatics, and I also played for years when I was younger. I used to play on various recreational and travel teams, as well as for my high school. Let's just say that if you were born into my family, then you were instantly exposed to the sport. LoL.... Ok, well i'm off to start my day and hopefully be productive.
