Happy Monday Everyone!
Today is the start of a new week, and that means that there is a new "Stamp of the Week" being featured over at the Repeat Impressions' blog. This week, there is going to be a discount for the Sea Turtle image for all blog readers. For my card today, I decided to make the water waves simply by tearing sheets of blue cardstock and then adhering them down to the base of the card. In order to make the sun rays, I decided to use an idea that I saw over on one of Joy's cards. She is one of my fellow RI design team members, and you can check out her fabulous sun rays on this card here. I decided not to make my rays as even as hers, just to try and go for a different look. Usually I have a hard time leaving things uneven and unsymetrical, but for this card I kind of liked the imperfections of the rays and the waves. Hopefully you guys do too!... Oh, and at the last minute, I ended up adding the rhinestones to the water, just to give the card some "bling". I didn't want to go overboard, since this is a sympathy card. So hopefully it's not "too much"
Hope everyone had a super fun 4th of July weekend! I actually didn't get much crafting done, however I was able to relax a lot. So it was nice to just sit and do nothing for a change. I was able to hang out with my little sister and watch tons of movies. Fortunately, I still have the day off today and tomorrow, so I am hoping to make a few new cards soon to make up for this weekend.
