Hi There Friends!....
So it's time again for another "Product Challenge" brought to you by DeNami Design. I think the product challenges are always so fun, because it's kind of a nice change from the typical color & sketch challenges that are always going on. Although I do love those too, of course... but it's also nice to put the focus on some sort of product or embellishment every once in a while.
Ok, so enough rambling. This time around, for the DeNami Product Challenge #3, they have chosen to put the focus on GLITTER!.... How fun, right?...
Ok, so i'll be honest with you guys... In the past, glitter hasn't really ever been my first choice of embellishments. Not because I don't like the look of it... but mainly because I always found it to be just a bit too "messy" for me. However, just recently, when I worked at the DeNami booth at a stamp show in Orlando a couple of months ago, Nami introduced me to the Essential Glue Pad. It basically works just like a regular ink pad, only it's a pad of glue!.... Pretty Cool, huh?
Now, I realize that this discovery of mine is probably nothing new to many of you. But I had just never heard of it until I saw it at the show, and thus, I wanted to share it on my blog, just in case somebody else might find it useful too.
So basically, that's exactly what I used in order to create both of my cards for today... the Essential Glue Pad! I just "inked" my stamp images with glue and then stamped them right onto my card layers, just as I would have if I was using regular ink colors. Then I simply poured on various colors of glitter from the Radiant Jewels Sparklets 3-pk.
In order to get multiple colors of glitter on the same sheet of cardstock, I would just stamp one image first in various areas, and then apply the first color of glitter. Then once the glitter was already adhered in the first color, I then would just go back and stamp the second image wherever I wanted it to be, and then I applied the second color of glitter, which would then only stick to the areas with fresh glue. Super Simple!... I hope my instructions made sense. Feel free to ask any questions, if you need anything to be clarified in more detail.
As for my second card, I was a little frustrated when trying to take a decent photograph. I found the glitter on my card to be a bit "uncooperative" during its photo-shoot. LOL....
I used the glue pad once again in order to stamp the leaves at the top of the card. However, its consistency is hard to see in the photo because it was hard to capture the shimmer. Any photography tips on this issue, would be greatly appreciated! :) The card looks much better in person. But regardless, I added the close-up shot below, so that you could hopefully get a better feel of the stamped glitter leaves.
Ok, well that's all for today. I sure hope you guys will get inspired to play along in this fun glitter challenge too. You can find out more details about it on the DeNami Blog and also check out other samples from the rest of the talented girls on the design team as well.
Hope you all have a fabulous day!!! Thanks so much for reading! :)
